Sleepy Bear Inn Policies

Rules and Regulations

All guests planning to book or stay with us must know we do require a $200 incidental deposit at check-in. We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and friendly inn experience. These “Policies-House Rules” are considered part of our reservation agreement with you. As our guest, by accepting a reservation with us, you are agreeing to abide by all our Policies-House Rules. These Rules are presented here to help promote our guest’s experience and enjoyment and to ensure that each guest is aware of the understanding between the Inn and the guest. It is the sole responsibility of the Guest who is signing the Guest Registration card to inform his/her roommates of our policies, rules, and regulations. Should your other roommates be unhappy with a part or all of their stay, due to a lack of communicating the policies as outlined below, it will not be recognized as the Sleepy Bear Inn’s responsibility to rectify the matter.

Virtual Front Desk

A digital check-in email and text will be sent 2 days prior to your stay and must be completed digitally. You will be asked for a copy of your license which must match the reservation name, and a credit card that must match the reservation name.

The open reservation balance will be charged on the morning of your stay, including the $200 incidental deposit that will be returned on your check-out date.

The keyless entry code will be provided after digital check-in and payment is confirmed.

Check-in hours start at 3pm and end at 6 pm the day of your stay, if you have not completed your digital registration and paid your incidental deposit prior to 6pm, you will be considered a no show and charged the full amount of your reservation.

Check Out Time – 11 AM

The room rental period expires at 11:00 a.m. An additional day charge, plus tax may apply for late checkout. Late check-out may be available until noon for an additional charge of $35, please coordinate with management in advance for availability.

Payment

Payment for your full reservation is expected at the time of check-in. A physical ID is required to check-in. ID must match the credit card used to check-in.

Cancellation Policy

The Inn has a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you wish to cancel or modify a reservation you must notify the Inn 48 hours before your arrival date. If you elect to cancel or modify past the expiration of the cancellation period or fail to show up, room deposit will be lost, and or a “no show” charge will be levied to your credit card. Once checked in, no cancellations are permitted.

Checks and Cashing Checks

We do not accept checks. We do not provide check cashing services.

Guest Parking

Complimentary on-site self-parking is available for Inn occupants only, all vehicles must be registered at the time of check-in. The Inn is not responsible for any damage to the vehicles or items taken from vehicles. If a vehicle is left in the parking lot after the guest has departed without the consent of the inn, the inn reserves the right to have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense. No vehicle repairs on inn property.

Internet

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for guests.

Rates

All rates are quoted in United States currency, plus tax. Rates are subject to change daily and may increase without notice. Rates are advertised on our website and may be quoted over the phone directly. 50% of the total is required to hold your room until arrival. We require that each reservation be guaranteed by a credit card. Single-room rates are based on 2 guests per room occupancy. Additional guests must be pre-approved and may result in an additional charge. Double room rates are based on 4 guests per room occupancy. If you exceed the maximum occupancy, you will be asked to rent an additional guest room for proper accommodation or vacate the Inn without a refund. Children can accompany the family as long as the room occupancy is adhered to. Guests must be 21 years of age to rent a room. If you wish to extend your stay, you must coordinate with management in advance for availability at least one day in advance and update payment the night before the original check-out date. Failure to pay gives management authorization to remove guests.

Pets

No pets are allowed at the Sleepy Bear Inn. If any evidence of a pet(s) is found without permission, failure to comply gives management authorization to remove guests and forfeit all rental payments. Any evidence of a pet in a guest rental property or on-premises will result in a $200 fine per pet plus any additional charges for cleaning and any needed deodorizing.

Smoking

The Sleepy Bear Inn is a smoke-free property and violations are charged at $200 per night. Smoking of ANY SUBSTANCE is strictly prohibited inside all properties and is only permitted in designated smoking areas. Anyone found smoking within 25 feet of any room is subject to a $200.00 fine per night plus any additional charges for cleaning and any needed deodorizing. Failure to comply gives management authorization to remove guests. This policy prohibits all smoking of any substance, including any usage or paraphernalia associated with smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, hookahs, or cigars in all guest rooms and decks. As well as all indoor common areas including but not limited to reception, sidewalks/hallways, vending areas, laundry rooms, outdoor eating areas or picnic areas, etc. Smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of any door, window, vent, A/C unit, entryway, etc. If management smells it, sees it, or finds it, you will be fined. Any legal smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas, cigarette butts not properly disposed of are considered littering and fineable.

Room Rules

We are a NO TOLERANCE INN. While we attempt to give at least one warning before calling the police, this policy may be enforced without warning if deemed necessary to protect other guests of the inn. Any guest who causes a disturbance or refuses to follow the policies and guidelines set before them will be warned ONCE. After the first warning, non-compliance gives management authorization to remove guests and forfeit all rental payments. If the guest does not comply, the LOCAL AUTHORITIES will be contacted.

Solicitation

The act of solicitation is prohibited. If management finds such a person soliciting non-compliance gives management authorization to remove guests and forfeit all rental payments.

Quiet Hours

For the comfort and convenience of all guests, the inn has "Quiet Time" between the hours of 8 pm and 10 am. We ask our guests to be respectful of your neighbors and to not congregate outside rooms or public areas where the noise will disturb others.

Burning

Burning of candles, incense, and essential oils (diffusing or vaporizing, etc) is strictly prohibited. These activities will be treated as smoking, any evidence will result in a $200 fine per night, plus any additional charges for cleaning and any needed deodorizing.

Cooking

The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us. Except for the microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator in units or the outdoor grills provided by the Inn, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliance is prohibited. This includes but is not limited to, the use of hot plates, toaster ovens, crock pots, rice cookers, burners, or grills not provided by the inn. Please refrain from microwaving pungent food as the odor is difficult to remove from fabric, a cleaning fee may be assessed and taken from the guest’s incidental deposit. Guests in violation of this rule may be subject to immediate removal from the property without refund and will be responsible for all financial incurrences including payment for damage caused or additional cleaning fees, payable on demand.

Room Keys

Room keys are issued to the registered guest(s) only. ID is required if you have lost your key and require a duplicate. Lost keys will result in an additional charge of $25 per incident.

Lost & Found

The Inn assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item.

Found Items

Sleepy Bear Inn is not responsible for any item left behind by a guest. However, any item, except perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days. A reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.

Return

We would be happy to return your lost item(s) to you by courier delivery. The delivery cost will be charged to guests plus a 25% handling fee. Sleepy Bear Inn is not responsible for any item lost or misdirected during shipment by the Postal Service.

Housekeeping

Your comfort is very important to us. Housekeeping starts at 10 am. You may elect to defer daily housekeeping for 2 days at a time but staff will enter the room every 3rd day for inspection and to change linens. All linens are inventoried; missing or damaged linens will be itemized and taken from incidental deposit.

Damage to Mattresses and Bedding

Damage to mattresses and linen including towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, and blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair, or replacement of the damaged article. Bodily fluids will result in full mattress replacement, plus a management fee to dispose of the soiled mattress and replace it.

Infestation

The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to our guests. If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our premises, we may charge you for any costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.

Damage and Theft of Inn Property

Booking guest is liable for any damage caused (whether by the deliberate, negligence, or reckless act to the room (s), inn’s premises, or property caused by a guest or any person in the party whether or not staying at the inn during the stay. Sleepy Bear Inn has the right to charge such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Sleepy Bear Inn as a result of the aforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to contact the guest to hereby authorize us to charge the guest’s payment for any damage incurred to the guest’s room or the Inn property during the guest’s stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally before contracting a specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.

Damage to room

Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing, and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, etc. as well as damage to sheets from for example permanent marker, dyed hair color, fruit color, and things that make unremovable stains will be charged at 150% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to the inn property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

To Refuse Service

The Inn is privately owned and operated. As such, the Inn reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason that does not violate Federal or State Laws. We may refuse to admit, refuse service or accommodation, or remove a person without refund who refuses to abide by our Inn policies or any state or federal law. Specifically, we will refuse service or remove a guest for refusal or failure to pay, who appears to be under the influence of any intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests. Service may also be refused in the event guests are unable to properly supervise their children, seek to use the inn for unlawful purposes, or possess a weapon or hazardous substance that may cause harm to other guests. Removal may also result to any person who threatens, destroys, or damages, defaces Inn property, or threatens to do such harm. Simply put, the removal of a guest may result from the guest’s failure to abide by our Policies-house rules.

Information Collection

Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at Sleepy Bear Inn. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. Personally identifiable information is only obtained when making a reservation. All identifiable information provided will not be disclosed to anyone unless we are specifically requested to do so. Sleepy Bear Inn does not give or sell to anyone any information we collect on our site.

 

We sometimes use data collection devices such as "cookies" on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A "cookie" is a small file that gets placed on your hard drive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose to.

Security

At Sleepy Bear Inn, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to Safeguard it online and offline. Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the internet.

Policy Modifications

Sleepy Bear Inn may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time to meet changes in the regulatory environment, business needs, or to satisfy the needs of our guests, properties, strategic marketing partners, and service providers.
